Walk, Paddle, Pedal: Raising Funds to Empower Children Through Film

This October, a dedicated team from our Group will take on the formidable Ullswater Challenge – a 20-mile endurance event combining walking, paddle boarding, and biking through the picturesque landscapes of Ullswater. This challenge aims to raise vital funds for PHASE Worldwide, supporting both its new #FilmForAll enrichment programme and its ongoing, life-changing work in Nepal.

About the Challenge

The Ullswater Challenge is no small feat. Our team will:

• Walk through the stunning trails surrounding Ullswater.
• Paddleboard back to base camp (depending on weather conditions, this can take 4-5 hours) for some of the team members.
• Cycle back to complete a total distance of 20 miles for the rest of the team.

Why We’re Doing This

This is why we partner with PHASE Worldwide (PWW). PWW provides practical help to people and communities, empowering them to achieve self-sufficiency, regardless of where they are in the world. For many years, PHASE has worked in Nepal, changing lives through the provision of health services and maternal care, helping bring babies into the world in remote locations with basic medical care. Along the way, they have saved lives and created new opportunities.

Recently, PWW has expanded its mission to the UK, bringing the same practical help to empower children who lack access to the same opportunities as others. Through our partnership with Cine School, we’re enabling primary school children to create films that are entered into film festivals. This experience provides them with new skills—filming, costume design, directing, acting, scriptwriting—instilling pride in their achievements and the confidence to pursue their dreams.

As a Group, we are taking part in this event to support PHASE Worldwide in changing more lives, both in the UK and across the world, much like what we strive to do at Nicholas Associates Group through the opportunities we provide.
