Walking initiative raises £800 for local food banks
Last month, we launched our ’50 for £50’ initiative across our Group which enabled our colleagues to support their local community food banks. Throughout February, we challenged our teams across the country to band together and get walking, with each individual in the team committing to walking 50 miles alongside their colleagues.
The challenge was simple but made a huge impact: For every team that completed the collective 50-mile walk, we pledged to donate £50 to purchase groceries for local food banks in their respective areas. This initiative not only aimed to support those in need within our local communities but also encouraged team bonding and promoted wellness, mental health and an active lifestyle for our colleagues.
Community support has always been a core value at Nicholas Associates Group, and we constantly seek innovative ways to give back to those in need. This initiative provided an excellent opportunity for our teams to come together and foster meaningful connections all whilst supporting our local communities.
The initiative was well received by everyone within our Group, with our teams being excited to step up and make a difference in their communities. We are pleased to announce that 16 teams completed the ’50 for £50′ Challenge, resulting in a total donation of £800 to food banks across the UK.
This is only just the beginning as we continue our commitment to community engagement with the ‘March on in March’ challenge. Building on the success of last month’s challenge, our teams will continue to walk for a cause with a slight twist. For every 10 miles completed beyond the initial 50-mile target, an additional £10 will be donated to support local communities. We can’t wait to see the impact we can make together.
