Partnering with GreenTheUK to plant 8000 trees
Nicholas Associates Group is pleased to announce that over the next two years, we will be planting 8,000 climate resilient trees with GreenTheUK to help restore UK woodlands, protect biodiversity and combat climate change. Four thousand of these trees have been planted this planting season across woodlands in West Sussex, North Yorkshire and County Down.
In partnership with the Royal Forestry Society, the right species of trees are planted in the right places to give the trees the best chances of survival against the threats of climate change. At the end of the planting season, we will be sharing a detailed case study on what species have been planted and the benefits for local biodiversity.
GreeenTheUK was established to assist businesses in meeting ambitious CSR and ESG goals through involvement with UK wildlife projects. They help partners to create a compelling narrative that fosters support from employees and communities to deliver a measurable local impact on biodiversity.
This partnership is part of our wider commitment to reduce our environmental impact as we work towards achieving ISO 14001 management standards.
Our hope is that not only will our pledge help to strengthen UK forests, but the awareness campaigns that GreenTheUK create will also inspire others to take action against the threats posed by climate change.
In 2021/22, the UK planted only 46% of DEFRA’s planting target for net zero emissions by 2050 and England only has a 10% tree coverage, compared to the EU’s 37.7% average. Storms such as Eunice and Franklin have brought down millions of trees to the equivalent of 10,000 football pitches. So it is vital to help mitigate these disastrous effects of climate change.
We are determined to aid the creation of a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come.
